On May 18, 2023, at approximately 1:15 p.m. local time, the oil tanker 'Ace Hana', with a crew of 14 members on board, collided with a bridge pillar of the Roko Ohashi Bridge situated in Kobe's Higashinada district. The vessel remained wedged for a significant duration before two tugboats came to the rescue, successfully dislodging the tanker and escorting it back to port. Both the bridge pillar and the 'Ace Hana' sustained varying degrees of damage as a result of the allision. In response to the incident, the Kobe Coast Guard has initiated a thorough investigation.
