On July 13, 2013, the ferry 'Adler IV' found itself stranded off the Amrum Odde, a picturesque locale at the northern tip of Amrum Island. The vessel was en route from Amrum back to Sylt when it encountered difficulties in the fairway's 'Mittelloch,' which proved too shallow for safe passage. As a result, the ferry became grounded, leaving it high and dry until further assistance could be arranged.

On the evening of October 2, 2011, the vessel "Adler IV," carrying 160 passengers, found itself stranded between Amrum and Hörnum. Initial reports suggest the captain may have miscalculated the water depth, leading to the unfortunate grounding. Rescue operations were swiftly launched involving multiple vessels, including the lifeboat "Horst Heiner Koeten" from the DGzRS station in Hörnum, the small boat "Japsand" from the lifeboat "Vormann Leiss" stationed at Amrum, and the Coast Guard's "Kniepsand" along with its small boat "Odde". Additionally, a raft from the Catamaran Club Sylt joined the rescue efforts. Despite the situation, the evacuation proceeded without incident, and all passengers, along with a dog, were safely transferred to the sister ship "Adler VI". This operation concluded successfully at 8:50 p.m. However, due to the receding tide, the "Adler IV" remained grounded until it was able to refloat under its own power at 4 a.m. on October 3, before continuing its journey to Hörnum.

On September 3, 2023, the passenger ferry 'Adler IV' arrived safely at Hoernum at 6 a.m. Following its docking, passengers were disembarked, and a thorough inspection was conducted by German Lloyd during the late morning hours. Fortunately, the inspection revealed no damages, allowing the 'Adler IV' to continue its scheduled operations between Amrum, Föhr, and Sylt starting September 4.
