The Barbaros-Uluc-Vardal: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On August 26, 2025, the 'Barbaros Uluç Vardar', a tanker traveling from Istanbul to Sevilla, experienced engine troubles while navigating the Bosphorus off the Yeniköy-Beykoz area. Fortunately, the situation was quickly resolved with assistance from the tug 'Kurtarma 9' (IMO: 9598581). After promptly addressing the engine failure, the tanker continued its journey into the Marmara Sea, successfully exiting the Strait without further issues. On November 4, 2020, the Spanish maritime rescue organization, Salvamento Marítimo, successfully executed a medical evacuation for a crew member aboard the 'FS Clara' at the anchorage in Cartagena. The operation was necessitated by a serious injury involving the loss of a finger. In response, the rescue teams deployed two specialized SAR vessels, 'Clara Campoamor' and 'Salvamar Mimosa', to swiftly assist the injured crew member. After receiving prompt care aboard the rescue boats, the victim was transported ashore where an ambulance was waiting to provide further medical treatment.
