The vessel was located 11 nautical miles (20 km) off the coast of Le Havre, en route to Hamburg, when a crew member reported experiencing severe chest pains. In response, CROSS Joburg swiftly facilitated a conference call that included the tanker, the Centre for Medical Consultation based in Toulouse, and the Maritime Medical Coordination team in Le Havre. Following this consultation, a decision was made to execute a medical evacuation via helicopter. The Dragon 76 helicopter from Civil Security, accompanied by a medical team, was dispatched to the scene to perform the necessary rescue operation. The patient was subsequently airlifted and taken to Jacques Monod Hospital in Le Havre for urgent medical care.
