In a noteworthy maritime transaction, a vessel has been successfully sold for $13.2 million to Greek buyers known as Andromeda. This development highlights the ongoing interest and activity in the global shipping market, as buyers and sellers navigate the intricate waters of maritime commerce.

In a recent incident at the Fujairah Offshore Anchorage, the captain of the Indian-flagged tanker MT Jag Laadki has been prohibited from commanding any vessels at the port following a series of collisions. According to a document issued by the Port of Fujairah, the captain is now banned from any operations at this crucial maritime hub. Alongside the ban, the port authorities have levied a significant fine of approximately $22,000 against the vessel's operations. The unfortunate accidents took place on February 23, 2023, when MT Jag Laadki struck two anchored LNG carriers, the Al Khattiya and the Iglc Anka, while navigating among other vessels in the busy anchorage of the United Arab Emirates.

On February 23, 2017, the LNG tanker 'Al Kahttiya' encountered significant damage after colliding with the vessel 'Jag Laadki' while moored at Fujairah Anchorage in the Gulf of Oman. The impact resulted in breaches to two ballast tanks of the Al Kahttiya, although fortunately, there was no resulting pollution. The collision caused extensive damage to the ship's hull, puncturing it both above and below the waterline on the starboard side, along with compromising the deck – which was found to be dented and bent. The Al Kahttiya had dropped anchor at Fujairah on the same day, having made its way from Thamesport on February 6. At the time of the allision, the vessel was engaged in burning off residual LNG still present within its pressure tanks, which are considered empty only when completely devoid of LNG. The ship will need to achieve this status before being granted permission to continue to port for necessary repair work.
