Disabled Tanker CT Cork Successfully Towed to Madeira Region
On November 28, 2017, the tanker CT Cork found itself disabled and adrift in the Atlantic Ocean, southwest of the Azores, while on a voyage from Puerto Rico to Yalova. To provide timely assistance, the tug Alp Winger (IMO: 9367504) was enlisted for the challenging operation. The Alp Winger departed from Ponta Delgada on November 29 and, after four days of navigation, reached the stranded vessel on December 2 at 7:30 PM.
