What Crew Members Say About Ginga-Caracal

On August 26, 2019, a maritime incident occurred involving the cargo ship 'Ginga Caracal' as it made its way to Shanghai. The collision took place approximately 37 kilometers northwest of Taichung, Taiwan, when the 'Ginga Caracal' struck the fishing vessel 'Zin Fa Cai 66'. The Taiwan Coast Guard received notification of the accident at 6:22 AM and promptly dispatched two vessels to the scene. The 'Zin Fa Cai 66' suffered significant damage on its port side along with a broken mast, but fortunately, all five crew members aboard were unharmed. Similarly, the 'Ginga Caracal' sustained damage to its starboard side, but its crew also emerged without injuries. In the aftermath of the collision, the Coast Guard escorted both vessels back to Taichung to determine accountability for the incident.
