Emergency Evacuation of Captain from Tanker 'Elim' Near Goa
On the morning of June 6, 2021, the tanker 'Elim', en route from Kandla to Singapore, made an urgent detour to Goa to seek medical help for its 50-year-old Korean captain. The captain was experiencing severe lethargy, paralysis in his left arm, and significantly low blood pressure. In a swift response, a helicopter from the Indian Coast Guard conducted a medevac operation, successfully transporting the captain to Vasco hospital in Goa, where he was reported to be in stable condition. After addressing the medical emergency, the 'Elim' continued its journey, anchoring safely in Mormugao, Goa, in the afternoon.
