Navios Maritime Completes Major Sale of Five Tankers to Avic Leasing
Navios Maritime has successfully executed a strategic sale involving five tankers, consolidating its assets and streamlining operations. The deal encompasses two Long Range 1 (LR1) vessels – the ‘Nave Andromeda’ (IMO: 9524830), built in 2011, and the ‘Nave Estella’ (IMO: 9524828), constructed in 2012 at Sungdong Shipyard in Korea, alongside three Medium Range (MR) tankers: ‘Nave Alderamin’ (IMO: 9646194), ‘Nave Titan’ (IMO: 9646359), and ‘Nave Capella’ (IMO: 9646182), all launched in 2013 at Dae Sun Shipbuilding, also in Korea. The vessels have undergone various dry-dockings, with the ‘Nave Andromeda’ and ‘Nave Estella’ serviced in December 2019 and February 2020, and the MR fleet dry-docked in September, June, and October of 2021, respectively. The entire package was acquired by Chinese buyers Avic Leasing for a total of USD 103.2 million, marking a significant transaction in the maritime sector.
