Aker Philadelphia Shipyard Unveils Overseas Tampa: 12th Veteran Class MT-46 Tanker
In an exciting development for the maritime industry, Aker Philadelphia Shipyard has successfully handed over the Overseas Tampa, the twelfth vessel in its Veteran Class MT-46 product tanker series, to American Shipping Company. This impressive 46,000 deadweight ton (dwt) tanker is set to embark from the shipyard within days, taking to the seas under the management of Overseas Shipping Group (OSG) for the transportation of petroleum products. Alongside this achievement, Aker Philadelphia Shipyard is currently engaged in the construction of two more product tankers. The first of these vessels is already under development, with production activities for the second one slated to begin this summer.
