On April 25, 2015, a severe incident unfolded aboard the 'Energy Protector', a tanker vessel, while navigating from Braakman Port in Terneuzen. Around midday, the ship encountered a critical issue with a broken power line near buoy 17, leading to a serious injury to the 4th engineer. The local police launch, known as 'P 41', promptly medevaced the injured crew member. In the meantime, the vessel 'Veborunner' facilitated the transfer of ambulance personnel to Terneuzen, who then boarded the police boat. Once they reached the tugboat pier, the injured engineer was quickly transported to a hospital in Ghent for treatment. Following the incident, the 'Energy Protector' resumed its journey, setting sail again at 4:30 p.m. with its destination set for New York, where it is expected to arrive on May 6.
