Collision Involving Tugboat Causes Significant Damage Off Norderney

On the evening of April 30, 2015, the 23-meter fishing vessel "Vertrauen - SK 42" experienced a troubling incident while navigating from Cuxhaven to Eemshaven. The vessel collided with the anchored "Nordic," located approximately 2-3 miles off the coast of Norderney. This unfortunate allision resulted in considerable damage to both vessels involved. After the incident, the "Vertrauen" was escorted to Emden by a customs boat accompanied by police officers. The 50-year-old captain of the tug was required to pay a safety deposit of €1,000. Despite the damage, the "Nordic" managed to return to its anchorage position shortly after the incident.

The tugboat 'Nordic' is currently undergoing an extensive repair procedure due to issues with its towing system. In response to this situation, the emergency tug 'Baltic' has been dispatched from Rostock to step in as the replacement. Additionally, the tugboat 'Bugsier 9' has left Wilhelmshaven and is heading to Rostock to assume the role previously held by the 'Baltic'.
